BOTOX® Cosmetic Injections are mostly effective in people from 18 to 65 years of age. BOTOX® Cosmetic was the first treatment of this type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Take a look at recipients who’ve had BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments, and see for yourself!

You will see a noticeable improvement in just days after only one, 10 minute treatment! Moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, on the forehead, and around the eyes (crows feet) will disappear, soften, or be greatly reduced — wrinkle correction can last up to 4 months. Results may vary depending on the individual and the amount of product used per treatment.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows, along the forehead, and around the eyes to form over time.

There’s only one BOTOX® Cosmetic. Talk to your physician to see if BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you!

Elante Cosmetic Medical offers several dermal filler options for keeping you looking young and healthy. Elante Cosmetic Medical’s dermal filler products help smooth out lines on the face and add volume to areas that have been damaged from years of facial expression and sun exposure.

Each dermal filler product has its own advantages, and our physicians will help you find the one that is best for you.

What Is JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel?

As we age, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds form. But, with JUVÉDERM® injectable gel, you can maintain your younger, smoother look!

JUVÉDERM® is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid. This naturally occurring substance helps add volume and hydration to your skin. Your physician eases JUVÉDERM® injectable gel under the skin to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or nasolabial folds (the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).

JUVÉDERM® provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know)! In fact, studies show superior results of JUVÉDERM® compared to a collagen-based dermal filler.†

Almost 90% of all study volunteers who were treated with both JUVÉDERM® injectable gel and another dermal filler† preferred JUVÉDERM®!

JUVÉDERM® injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color.

Immediate Results With Cosmetic Dermal Fillers

With JUVÉDERM® the injection process takes only about 15 minutes and results are immediate. Plus, there’s minimal recovery time allowing you to step out of your doctor’s office and back into your life.

*JUVÉDERM® is indicated for injection into the mid to deep dermis for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds).

What Is PREVELLE SILK Injectable Gel?

PREVELLE Silk is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that contains a small quantity of a local anesthetic (lidocaine) to provide pain relief at the injection site. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the human body, which moisturizes (hydrates) and cushions the skin. PREVELLE Silk is naturally broken down by your body over time. Skin testing is not required.

After the initial injection an additional treatment, or touch up, may be needed 1 to 2 weeks later to achieve the desired level of correction. Over time PREVELLE Silk will be broken down naturally by your body, which is why you may want repeat treatments. In general, repeat treatments are needed within 3 to 6 months to maintain the desired result, but the timing of additional treatment varies from person to person.

Increased comfort with the addition of lidocaine

Effective treatment for lines and folds

Soft, natural results

Convenient, same-day procedure

Immediate results

Minimal irritation post-procedure

Little or no downtime

It offers 3 different wavelengths (qs1064nm, qs755nm, qs532nm) to target all colors of tattoo ink.

As with many cosmetic procedures, the number of treatments needed to lighten the tattoo will vary based on many factors:

Age and location of the tattoo

Depth and color of the ink

Patient’s skin type (natural color of the skin)

The strength of the patient’s immune system

The laser technician’s knowledge and experience

These factors, combined, all play a major role in the tattoo removal process.

Why Choose Elante Cosmetic Medical?

When it comes to removing a tattoo, the most advanced laser system is only half of the equation. Perhaps, the most important element is the person who operates the laser and performs your treatment. Here at Elante Cosmetic Medical, we not only use the gold standard in technology, but we have one of the most experienced laser technicians in South Carolina. Elante Cosmetic Medical’s laser technician, Jonathan D. Gardner, has been safely and effectively removing tattoos for over a decade.

FAQ’s about the VersaPulse® Laser

The word LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Today’s advanced laser technology allows us to safely and effectively treat many benign skin lesions, on an out-patient basis.

How does the VersaPulse® Laser remove a tattoo?

The VersaPulse® laser utilizes a process called Selective Photothermolysis. The word photothermolysis comes from three Greek root words: “photo” meaning light; “thermo” meaning heat; and “lysis” meaning destruction. Therefore, Selective photothermolysis refers to the precise targeting of a structure or tissue by using a specific wavelength of light. The energy directed into the target area produces sufficient heat to damage the target, allowing the surrounding areas to remain relatively undamaged.

The VersaPulse® laser removes a tattoo by using one of it’s three specific wavelengths of light (energy) which is attracted to and absorbed by a specific tattoo-ink’s color underneath the skin. The absorption of this energy causes the ink to heat-up and it is, literally, fragmented into microscopic particles that are, over a period of time, slowly taken away by the immune system’s macrophages (scavenger cells) to the lymphatic system. This immune response is the mechanism that actually removes the tattoo! More simply put: the VersaPulse® laser safely obliterates the ink, and the body’s immune system safely removes the tattoo.

How many laser treatments are required to remove a tattoo?

This depends on several factors such as: size, location, depth, color, and the frequency in which the tattoo is treated. Treatments should be placed 4 to 8 weeks apart to allow your body to remove the maximum amount of targeted ink particles. In between treatments, your body will continue to absorb the fragmented ink and the tattoo fades.

On average, a tattoo can be removed in 5 to 20 sessions depending on the factors mentioned above. Please note: the removal of any tattoo is a slow process by which your body’s immune system does the work. It will take months for your body to do this work effectively. It is our goal to remove your tattoo in a medically sound and safe manner. We tailor each treatment session to minimize the risk of scarring and undesirable skin-pigment changes while maximizing your results.

Are VersaPulse® Laser treatments safe?

VersaPulse® lasers have been used successfully in thousands of tattoo removal treatments. When performed by a trained physician or laser specialist, the VersaPulse® treatments are one of the safest and most effective treatments available to date.

Do VersaPulse® laser tattoo removal treatments hurt?

Most patients say the treatments are much more intense than getting the tattoo. Stinging, like the snap of a rubber band on the skin can be expected . Post treatment sensations are similar to a mild feeling of sunburn. Post-operatively, the tattoo reacts similarly to when it was originally applied into the skin — punctate bleeding, scabbing, and soreness can be expected. Our staff will educate you on how to safely manage the wound by using effective skin emollients, ointments, and steril bandages. You must take care of your treated tattoo, as directed by our physicians, to obtain the best outcome for a successful removal. Most treatments do not require anesthetics, though some patients feel more comfortable with local numbing agents such as: ice; topical numbing cream (must be applied with physician supervision 30 minutes prior to laser treatment) and/or local anesthesia — which is injected under and around the treatment site by our physician team.

What results can you expect?

Most patients will see improvement in the appearance of their tattoo after the first treatment. Sometimes this improvement can be dramatic, and sometimes it can be subtle. Remember that it takes time for the immune system to fully absorb the treated ink. We urge you to be patient and to see the treatments through. We capture and utilize digital photos to measure your tattoo’s progress prior to each treatment . However, as with any surgical procedure, there is always a possibility that only minor changes will occur, and in rare cases, there is no response.

This laser uses a variable pulse width that allows selective treatments of a wide variety of vascular conditions with minimal bruising or down-time.

This variable pulsed technology allows the physician or laser specialist to safely treat the patient’s vascular lesions without harming the surrounding skin cells.

Facial Veins, Rosacea, and Pigmented Lesions Are No Problem For The VersaPulse® Laser

Vascular and pigmented conditions the VersaPulse® laser can effectively treat include: Facial Telangiectasia (broken capillaries); Rosacea management (a skin disease where redness and flushing of the face occurs) – Cherry Hemangiomas (red moles); Port Wine Stains (red birthmark); and other vascular birthmarks – Solar Lentigines (benign brown spots, freckles) – Melasma, Tattoos.

FAQ’s about the VersaPulse® Laser

The word LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Today’s advanced laser technology allows us to safely and effectively treat many benign skin lesions, on an out-patient basis.

How does a VersaPulse® laser work?

The VersaPulse® laser uses an intense beam of light to gently remove unwanted, damaged, or diseased cells/lesions without harming the surrounding healthy cells. The VersaPulse® laser’s green-light energy is delivered in short, adjustable pulses, which minimizes bruising and discomfort.

How many treatments are required?

This depends on several factors such as: size, location, depth, and the color of your vascular or pigmented lesion. Spider Veins on the face and Cherry Hemangiomas generally diminish with one or two treatments, while darker or deeper birthmarks may require multiple treatments. Port Wine Stains and Hemangiomas are safely treated and respond well with a series of laser treatments. Rosacea is a disease that requires continual management. However, the VersaPulse® laser dramatically reduces the redness and flushing nature that Rosacea causes. Pigmented lesions require 1 to 3 sessions for safe removal. Treatments should be placed 4 to 6 weeks apart to allow your body the adequate time to remove the maximum amount of targeted cells. You will continue to see a lightening of your lesions after each treatment as your body disposes of the coagulated cells that have been treated with the VersaPulse® laser.

Vascular lesions or pigmented lesions $350 per treatment

Are VersaPulse® laser treatments safe?

VersaPulse® lasers have been used in thousands of treatments. When properly performed by a trained physician or laser specialist, the VersaPulse® treatments are extremely safe and effective. There are many benefits to VersaPulse® laser surgery: Immediate results are visible; there is little, if any, discomfort; no numbing cream or injections are necessary for most patients; low risk of bruising; minimal swelling; and once the lesions are adequately treated, they usually do not return.

Do VersaPulse® laser treatments hurt?

Some patients say they feel a slight sting, like the snap of a rubber band on the skin. Post treatment sensations are similar to a mild feeling of sunburn. The VersaPulse® uses a special “chilled tip” to cool the skin during treatment — this makes the treatment more tolerable as well as protects the skin. Most treatments do not require anesthetics.

What results can you expect?

Most patients will see improvement in their vascular lesions after the first treatment. This improvement can be quite dramatic. We document your results by using digital photography to map out your lesions pre- and post–operatively. However, as with any laser procedure, there is always a possibility that only minor changes will occur, and in rare cases, there is no response.

The Sciton® PROFILE® laser has become a widely used tool by leading plastic surgeons and dermatologist around the world for the reduction of fine lines; wrinkles; scars; pigmentation; collagen stimulation and remodeling; skin tightening/toning; and facial rejuvenation. The Sciton laser is unique because it offers state-of-the-art modalities in one system that can treat a wide variety of skin conditions.
For more information check out www.sciton.com.

ProFractionalTM Resurfacing

Fractional laser treatments with Sciton’s ProFractionalTM scanner allows your skin to heal much faster than if 100% of the entire skin surface was treated at once. ProFractionaTMl laser treatments treat sun spots and age spots, improves uneven pigmentation, improves wrinkles, uneven skin texture, acne scars, and stimulates collegen formation with minimal downtime than traditional laser therapies.

What is the ProFractionalTM Laser Treatment?

The ProFractionalTM laser is a “fractionated” Erbium:Yag 2940nm laser treatment that produces thousands of deep, precise, microscopic, thermal-columns into your skin without affecting any of the surrounding tissue. This reduces discomfort and shortens healing time while promoting the skin’s natural process for creating new, healthier tissue to replace the damaged cells. This healing process stimulates collegen fibers and skin rejuvenation occurs.

How is the ProFractionalTM laser different from other laser treatments?

Before ProfractionalTM laser treatments, there were two types of available laser treatments: Fully ablative laser treatments (Co2 lasers) and non-ablative treatments. Fully ablative laser treatments involve the aggressive vaporization of skin cells at very high temperature. This treatment is very effective but it has been associated with a high incidence of side effects and requires months to heal. Non-ablative laser treatments have lower incidences of side effects with much shorter healing periods, but requires numerous treatments over many months, and they have had marginal results at best. ProFractionalTM treatments strive to offer the effectiveness of ablative lasers with the benefits of the gentler, non-ablative lasers.

How does the ProFractionalTM laser work?

The ProFractionalTM laser is designed to target specific portions of damaged tissue cells by creating microscopic “wounds” within the treatment areas. During the healing process, these microscopic channels of ablated tissue are attacked by the surrounding healthy tissue. As a result of this specifically targeted injury, the body’s natural immune response accelerates fibroblast production, which then grows the new collagen and elastin fibers that, ultimately, transforms your appearance.

What are the risks of ProFractionalTM Laser Treatments?

Swelling and redness are the most common side effects from this treatment. If swelling does occur, it is minimal and generally subsides within a two to four days. Redness may occur, and it will fade within a few days. Peeling of the skin may also occur. As always with skin surgery, there is a very limited risk of infection or scarring. Our physicians are available 24 hours a day to assess any potential complications and manage any issues that may arise during your healing process.

How many treatments will I need?

Clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective treatment regimen is 1-3 sessions, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. Results are immediate and progressive. Optimal improvement is usually visible in about 2 to 3 months. This time frame and treatment structure allows for complete healing and replacement of damaged tissue with new collagen and elastin, and viable healthy skin cell growth.

Is the ProFractionalTM Laser Treatment painful?

Most patients describe the treatment as having a “prickling” sensation. A topical anesthetic is available if desired.

What precautions should I take after treatment?

We recommend using an antimicrobial ointment during the healing process. You must apply sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher (UVA/UVB) after every two hours of sun exposure. Avoid direct sun exposure during the healing process and for at least 3 months after treatment.

MicroLaserPeel® (MLP®) is a minimal to full epidermal laser peel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin.

Microdermabrasion is individually tailored to the patient’s individual needs for ailments such as wrinkles, scars, keratoses, or pigmentation problems.

Is a MicroLaserPeel® for you?

If you want better results than microdermabrasion or a light chemical peel with less recovery time. Microdermabrasion will leave you with smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin. You will also notice a significant and immediate change in skin texture and tightness when compared to microdermabrasion.

How is the MicroLaserPeel® different from Microdermabrasion?

Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the outer layer (Stratum Corneum, 10-15 microns) of the skin. Patients may become dissatisfied when the perceived results do not equal expense and the number of procedures required.
The MicroLaserPeel® is a minimal to full epidermal peel (20-50 microns). Because this procedure goes deeper into the epidermis, it is the perfect step between microdermabrasion and deeper peels.

The Sciton® PROFILE® Laser

has become a widely used tool by leading plastic surgeons and dermatologists around the world for the reduction of fine lines; wrinkles; scars; pigmentation; collagen stimulation and remodeling; skin tightening/toning; and facial rejuvenation.

The Sciton® laser is unique because it offers state-of-the-art modalities in one system that can treat a wide variety of skin conditions.
For more information check out www.sciton.com.

How often does a MicroLaserPeel® need to be done?

One procedure could be sufficient for at least 6 months to 1 year, but additional procedures can be performed as required. Your physician will determine what is necessary.

What type anesthesia is used?

A topical anesthetic is applied 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure.

Do I have to wear any type dressing or bandage after the procedure?

No! Your physician will prescribe an ointment. This is used as a barrier to keep the air away from your skin while you grow new epithelium. You will probably use it for one to two days. After that, a moisturizer can be used.

How long is the MicroLaserPeel® healing process?

The healing process varies from patient to patient but will generally take from two to four days. If, for example, the procedure is performed on Thursday or Friday, you can return to work the following Monday. Immediately following the procedure you will feel as if you have a bad sunburn. You will have minor sloughing and itchiness the following day. By day two, redness will begin to fade and by day three any redness can be easily covered by makeup.

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup.

Eye-lining and other permanent color enhancements are applied to the skin of the face, lips, and eyelids. Artificial eyebrows can also be created, particularly in people who have lost hair due to old age, disease (such as alopecia), chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance.

Permanent make-up is also used to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo as well as restoration or enhancement to the breast’s areola, after breast surgery.

Most commonly called permanent cosmetics, other names include dermapigmentation, micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing, the latter being most appropriate since permanent makeup is, in fact, tattooing. In the United States and all around the world, the inks used in permanent makeup and the pigments in these inks are subject to FDA or similar agency regulation as cosmetics and color additives.
